Make a Joyful Noise

Sunday, December 21, 2019, was our last Holiday Concert of Amabile’s Holiday Concert Series with Make a Joyful Noise, presented by the Amabile Youth Singers and Prima: Amabile Women’s Choir, and the Amabile Chamber Choir.

We were truly enveloped with candlelight as our ladies performed the Ceremony of Carols with harpist Angela Schwarzskopf.

Along with the Amabile Chamber Choir, we started our holiday weekend full of holiday cheer and in high spirits. With the wonderful talents of the London Citadel Salvation Army Brass Ensemble and percussionist David Laidlaw, our favourite holiday carols were brought to life as the sounds of the ensemble and the choir filled the room.

We know that it certainly takes a village to put on a concert like this and we have so many people to thank for all they do.

We’d like to thank Artistic Director and Conductor Brenda Zadorsky, and Conductor Jeff Beynon, for all your work, your time and dedication this holiday season. Thank you to our wonderful accompanists Dr. Ronald Fox and Hayoon Kim for their hard work and dedication.

A special thank you to harpist Dr. Angela Schwarzkopf who came from Toronto to join us in last night’s celebration; and thank you to the London Citadel Salvation Army Brass Ensemble for joining us once again for a musical celebration of the season; and thanks to Rebecca Lubos and David Laidlaw for providing the percussion accompaniment for the evening. Thank you for sharing your musical talents with us; you were able to enhance our performances with artful nuance, texture and colour.

Thank you to our choir executive team and volunteers for their countless hours to ensure this concert, and all of our concerts, go so smoothly!

Thank you to all our choristers – over the last 35 years we’ve been truly blessed to work with such talented ladies (and gentlemen). Thank you for your time and your commitment to your craft.

Finally, thank you to all of you who came out last night to hear our final holiday concert of this season! Your support means everything to us and we wouldn’t be where we are today without you.
