“Follow me, In Merry Measure” – and follow we did! Our Junior Amabile Singers, Da Capo Choir and Treble Training Choir kick started our Holiday Season with a rousing set list that had everyone singing and laughing.

Thank you to all those who braved the cold and had the line up going out the door, to come and hear our youngest angels. Your support is greatly appreciated!

Thank you to our wonderful conductors: Kathy McNaughton, John Vermue, Jackie Norman, and Wendy Landon; and our amazing accompanists for the afternoon, and all our volunteers for their hard work. And a special thank you to our singers and their families for all the effort and work they have put in to ensure this concert would be a great one!

Lights! … Camera! … Christmas!

On Saturday, December 15th, we saw our 2nd Holiday Concert, performed by the Amabile Youth Singers, Prima: Amabile Women’s Choir, and Primus: Amabile Men’s choir.

With a full house, our three choirs journeyed through years of holiday favourites with a few surprises and lots of laughs, along with the men of Primus giving us an impromptu dance number! (Click here to see it!)

This performance also took the opportunity to invite former choristers to come up and perform with the choirs. We also took the time tonight to thank past Amabile Chair, Sue Hale for all her work with Amabile, and for all her support. A special thank you went out to our artistic directors and conductors: Carol Beynon, Brenda Zadorsky, and Mark Payne for all the hard work they have put into making the concert a success. Thank you to all of our immensely talented singers for their time and dedication to their craft.

Thank you to all our volunteers for their hard work and dedication into making all our events and concerts run as smoothly as they do. Finally, thank  you to everyone who came out tonight to support our choirs and enjoy the holiday music!

GLORIA! A Christmas Celebration of Music

The third and final concert Amabile held this year was with Encore: The Concert Band! It was a performance to remember – we didn’t even get started on time due to the amount of people who came out to hear the music. Performed by the Amabile Trebel Concert Choir, Amabile Young Men’s Ensemble and Encore: The Concert Band, they capped off the end of our Holiday Concert Series with the majestic Gloria! by John Rutter, written for professional adult choirs, but performed flawlessly by the Boys and Young Men of Amabile, and accompanied by brass, including some of Rutter’s sublime and most pieces.

Everyone got into the holiday spirit with the audience singing up a storm during the Leroy Anderson Christmas Festival finale.

We would like to extend thank you’s to our artistic directors and conductors: Don Sills and Jeff Beynon, who worked with our boys and young men to make this concert special. To our boys and young men: thank you for giving us your time, energy and effort to making this concert as great and sound as beautiful as it was! To all the members of Encore, you all played wonderfully and beautifully, with Gwyn Beynon doing a superb job conducting not only the band, but the choirs AND the audience! Your hard work and talent insurmountable and incomparable. Thank you to Carol Beynon for doing a great job as our MC!
To all the volunteers who helped set up and helped throughout the event to ensure that it went as smoothly as it did: thank you so very much!

Finally, thank you to everyone who came out today to a full house to support our two organizations – you’re one of the many reasons why we do what we do!

Thank you so much for all your support in 2018 and we wish you all the best for the new year! With that being said – we hope to see you all at our 2019 concerts!
